“Nations Will Be Redefined” — Rupert Murdoch

“We are in the midst of a phase of history in which nations will be redefined and their futures fundamentally altered,” wrote media mogul Rupert Murdoch in a recent memo to the management staff of News Corp, his global media empire, which includes Fox TV.

The provocative sentence is lodged within a long memorandum announcing the departure of the company’s longtime president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin as well as an upbeat pep talk about News Corps’ acquisitions and its plans for future growth in a world market where other media organizations will be retreating. Murdoch notes that News Corp is in a very enviable position, with $5 billion cash on hand and $3.5 billion in annual revenues.

But what about the bit on redefining nations? The line comes at the beginning of a portion of the memo that addresses the current global economic crisis and pledges that News Corp will not allow financial pressures to influence the company’s commitment to quality:

We are in the midst of a phase of history in which nations will be redefined and their futures fundamentally altered. Many people will be under extreme pressure and many companies mortally wounded. Our competitors will be sorely tempted to take the easy beat, to reduce quality in the search for immediate dividends.

Let me be very clear about our company: where others might step back from their commitment to their viewers, their users, readers and customers — we will renew ours.

The direction of the business now and over the next few years will define the character of our company for decades.

A major scientific report by leading Japanese academics concludes that global warming is not man-made and that the overall warming trend from the mid-part of the 20th Century onwards has now stopped.

Unsurprisingly the report, which was released last month, has been completely ignored by the Western corporate media.

The report was undertaken by Japan Society of Energy and Resources (JSER), the academic society representing scientists from the energy and resource fields.

For Party or Country

When we are born into this world we have no decision to which country we are raised in. For those of us that are born in the land of the free, it takes us many years to realize how blessed we truly are. Through that process we aren't thinking about being a Republican or Democrat because there is no understanding of the differences. What is important to us though is Country! In our adolescent minds we have the common sense to grasp what it means to love this land. If someone were to tell me at age 10 that both political parties were slowly destroying the USA, I would say that someone needs to fix those problems or destroy the parties. Apparently many people have lost that passion for this country and only stand for their parties views no matter how corrupt they may be. I saw a women getting interviewed on the Bill O'Reilly show that said she would never switch parties no matter what. No matter what? Really? Even if they were taking away all of your liberties and freedoms, you would still stand by that parties side? Was this country really found for a certain party or was it found for the people? I am a republican and love this country and everything that it stands for, but I would rather my party burn to the ground then let some man take away what many have fought and died for. Wake up America! We have become a weak people curled in fetal position on the side of a highway, while Hollywood, the Media and Political honchos fly past us. They aren't stopping to help, so we need to help each other! I believe this country was found on Divine Principles and that I am blessed to breath its air. With this freedom we must stand up from the side of the road and walk ourselves back to where we once were. Dont forget who you are America. You have had a nice nap, now its time to wake up and get to work.

Tenth Amendment Movement Taking Off

In less than two months, an exciting new movement has captured the imagination of freedom-minded Americans all across our nation. This movement, often referred to as the “State Sovereignty Movement,” is more properly referred to as the “Tenth Amendment Movement,” because it is not a movement to affirm the absolute freedom and independence of each state, but instead a movement to restore the balance of power between the states and the federal government within the union in accordance with the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.

Ron Paul Grills Bernanke: “You Can’t Reinflate The Bubble”

Congressman Ron Paul again took the opportunity to lecture Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke on sound money principles at this morning’s House Financial Services Committee hearing, warning that the financial crisis cannot be solved by merely creating credit out of thin air.

Paul said that yesterday’s record consumer confidence slump was a reflection of monetary policy in Washington and that it was impossible to patch up a failed system.

“This is the end of an era,” said the Congressman, “we can’t reinflate the bubble….if we think that we can reinflate this bubble by artificially creating credit out of thin air and calling it capital, believe me we don’t have a prayer of solving these problems - we have a total misunderstanding of what credit is versus capital.”

See Islam video banned in Detroit

How powerful is the video documentary "Obsession" Рan expos̩ of radical Islam's agenda throughout the world?

So powerful that at least one metro daily newspaper has refused a paid deal to distribute free educational copies of the acclaimed DVD to subscribers.

The Detroit Free Press recently turned down a paid insertion of the video, saying "it would have been potentially divisive and counterproductive to the good work the local Arab and Muslim organizations and individuals are doing to contribute to the rebirth of Detroit and Southeast Michigan."

Iowa Guard ends urban war exercise amid outcry

The Iowa Army National Guard has dropped plans for urban warfare training in the western Iowa town of Arcadia after being deluged by nearly 100 e-mails and phone calls from gun-rights advocates nationwide. The four-day event in April would have involved between 90 and 100 combat troops arriving in the Carroll County community in a convoy with a Blackhawk military helicopter flying overhead.
Troops would have gone door to door, asking the town's 443 residents about a suspected arms dealer and conducting searches of homes if property owners volunteered in advance to cooperate.
There was no opposition to the Guard's plans from city leaders. But gun-rights advocates were outraged, and news about the exercise became a hot topic nationally on radio talk shows and the Internet.

'Bombed Syrian reactor now missile base'

Syria has revealed that it has built a missile facility over the ruins of what the US says was a nuclear reactor destroyed by IAF warplanes, diplomats said Tuesday.

The diplomats quoted Syrian nuclear chief Ibrahim Othman as saying during a closed meeting Tuesday that the new structure appeared to be a missile control center or actual launching pad. They demanded anonymity for divulging details about what Othman told the International Atomic Energy Agency's 35-nation board.
